My daughter is just like all the other kids, really into slime! She started watching YouTube videos of slime last year and even has started her own YouTube channel called EllieBunny. On my own YouTube channel we have even posted a few slime videos of shopping for supplies, slime DIY tutorial, and even doing a slime challenge. All those videos were fun to film and they all had the added bonus of tons of comments from viewers. I love interacting with everyone who commented. It really makes me want to keep on filming.
Since it was just Christmas, Ellie had some Christmas money to burn. I suggested she use her money to get more of her slime supplies since she was very low and have not been making any new slime lately. She immediately agreed and so I told her we would go on Saturday when I am off of work and that we could go to more than one store if she wanted.
Our first stop on our quest was at Walmart. We chose to stop at Walmart first because we can usually find the best prices here. We wandered to the back of the store and finally found the craft aisle. The glitter collection at Walmart is decent. Ellie picked up a jar of holographic glitter to add to her collection. Holo glitter and clear slime is an excellent combination. We then turned our attention to paint. Acrylic paint is best, and Walmart has paint gallore. We found glitter, color shifting, glow in the dark, neon, and regular paints. It was hard to limit ourselves, but Ellie ended up with a bottle of color shifting paint and a three pack of glow in the dark paint. I admit I am excited to see the glow in the dark paint mixed in with slime.
Next, we visited Michael's. It is against the law to do any crafting without visiting and buying supplies from Michael's. Michael's has had a slime headquartes center aisle display for quite some time now. It is usually positioned towards the entrance to attract all the kiddos. Here you can find the gallons of glue, white and clear, your add-ins, and even slime kits. Ellie was actually on a mission for a gallon of the clear glue since it has been awhile since she has had any. We found a few jugs and decided to pick one up on our way out so we wouldn't have to carry it for so long. The glitter aisle was next on the list. She picked up a small tube of white glitter even though there were tons of great glitters of different sizes and colors to choose. Foam beads, sugar beads, and also a squishy rounded out her purchases here at Michael's. Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, the gallon of clear glue that we picked up on our way out was marked at $18 was actully rung up as $30. I asked the cashier why was it $30 when the display sign said $18, and she told me that it was miss marked. How pricey is that?? Naturally, Ellie passed on the gallon of clear glue.
Lastly, we made our way to Hobby Lobby. We were not sure what the prices would be like her since it has been a while since we have visited one. Also, Ellie mentioned she had not seen too many slime supply videos were they were purchased at a Hobby Lobby. So, we entered, and immediatley walked to the back of the store where the kid's crafts usually are located. We found an aisle front display for slime with bottles of clear and white glue. The prices were deemed appropriate so, Ellie bought two bottles of the clear glue. Some slime creators also like to add scents to the slime to make them smell excellent or yummy, and we just happened to be next to the candle aisle with a display of bottles of fragrances. Baking Cupcake was the delicious scent Ellie picked to add to her slime. With that last ingredient, we were out of the store and on our way home.
